Nuutrino

Private beta · iPhone

The simple nutrition log you'll actually use.

Most tracking apps die on day four, because logging a meal takes longer than eating one. Nuutrino reads the plate from a photo — then turns weeks of it into one clean report you can send to your dietitian.

Why Nuutrino exists

I built Nuutrino because no other app met my needs.

I've spent years managing ulcerative colitis and the GI problems that travel with it — along with weight that moved in both directions while I worked out what my body actually tolerated. Tracking food was never a hobby for me. It was how my care team and I found patterns worth acting on.

So I tried the apps. Every one of them was some combination of too complicated, too vague, or too slow — twenty taps and a database search to log a sandwich. I'd last a week, maybe two.

But the thing that really broke them was smaller and stranger. When my dietitian asked what I'd been eating, what I had was a mess — screenshots from one app, notes in my phone from another, a few photos I'd never logged anywhere. Every appointment started with me spending an hour stitching that together into an email. There was no clean, central way to generate one report and just send it.

Nuutrino is the app I wanted then. Photograph the plate, get on with your day — and when someone on your care team asks, hand them a real report. Free, because charging for your own data back is the part that made me give up.

How it works

Three steps, then get on with your day

The whole design goal was to make logging cost you almost nothing, so that you're still doing it in month three.

01

Photograph the plate

Or describe it in a sentence. No barcodes, no weighing, no scrolling a database of 40,000 near-identical entries.

02

Get the numbers

Nuutrino identifies the foods and estimates calories, carbs, protein and fat. If it misjudges the portion, correct it in a tap — it's your record.

03

Watch the pattern

One meal tells you nothing. A month tells you plenty — daily totals against your goals, weekly trends, and short written observations about what's shifting.

Reports

The part other apps charge for

Pick a week, a month, or any range of dates, and Nuutrino builds a proper PDF — a written observation, your macro averages against your goals, then every meal day by day. Send it straight from your phone to your dietitian, your GI specialist, your GP, or your family.

No subscription in front of it, no watermark, and no hour spent stitching screenshots together the night before an appointment. One tap, one file, done.

Who it's for

Built for anyone. Shaped by specific needs.

Nuutrino works for anyone who wants to know what they're eating. It was designed with four situations in mind, because those are the ones where a vague log isn't good enough.

Living with a GI conditionColitis, Crohn's, IBS. Nuutrino keeps an accurate, consistent record of what you ate — the groundwork for any conversation about diet. It doesn't track symptoms or how you felt; that part stays with you and your specialist.
Working with a dietitianArrive with a real report instead of trying to remember last Tuesday — and send it ahead so the appointment starts with the actual data.
Losing weightLog intake and weight in the same place, and watch the two move together over months rather than guessing at the link.
Living a busy lifeFamilies, kids, demanding jobs. If logging takes more than a few seconds it won't survive a real week, so it doesn't.

What's inside

Everything else it does

Goals that are yours

Set calorie and macro targets and an optional target weight. Every day is measured against what you chose, not a generic default.

Favourites

You eat the same breakfast more often than you'd admit. Save it once, log it in a tap from then on.

Insights in plain English

Not another chart to decode. Short written observations about what changed and what it looks like it's connected to.

Weight log

Record weight alongside intake so the two can be read together, with notes for the days worth remembering.

Share from anywhere

Reports go out through the normal iPhone share sheet — email, Messages, or straight into your notes app.

Light and dark

Follows your phone. Logging dinner shouldn't flashbang you at the end of the day.

Privacy

What a nutrition log knows about you should stay yours

There are no analytics, advertising or tracking services in Nuutrino. Not Google Analytics, not Firebase, not Facebook, not Segment, not Sentry. Nothing about your behaviour is collected for measurement or marketing, and this website doesn't load a single third-party file either.

Your data is never sold. Meal photos and descriptions go to Google's Gemini API to produce the estimate, and everything is stored on Supabase — those two, plus Apple for sign-in and distribution, are the only companies involved.

Deleting your account deletes your data. Genuinely: every photo, every meal, your profile and the login itself, with no recovery period and no archived copy.

Read the full privacy policy → It names every field collected and every provider, in a table.

Nuutrino gives estimates, not medical advice. It's a diary that helps you and your care team notice patterns — it doesn't diagnose or treat anything, and it's no substitute for a doctor or a registered dietitian. Judging portion size from a photograph is genuinely hard, and Nuutrino will sometimes get it wrong, which is why every meal is editable.
